Hi, I’m Robyn Asquini
I’m a painter and art instructor based in Toronto, where I create figurative paintings that move between realism and abstraction. Though I’ve been drawing and oil painting ever since I can remember, developing my practice through portraiture, the figure, still life, and landscape.
Before becoming a painter, I spent nearly a decade working as a commercial illustrator and art director in Toronto and New York. I studied illustration at Sheridan College, pursued graduate studies in art and design at Parsons in New York, and completed the classical drawing and painting program at the Academy of Realist Art, where I now teach workshops.
My work has been exhibited across North America and Europe, and I’m recognized as an ARC Associate Living Master. Alongside my studio practice, I’ve taught and mentored many artists through classes, workshops, and one-on-one instruction.
My private mentorship is designed around you and the artist you want to become. We can work together on drawing and painting fundamentals, portraiture, figurative or landscape painting, colour and composition, developing a personal style, or building a cohesive body of work. For artists pursuing a professional practice, I can also offer guidance on portfolios, exhibitions, applications, pricing, and navigating the business side of an art career.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking to push your work to the next level, my goal is to give you focused, personalized guidance while helping you build the skills and confidence to develop your own artistic voice.
